A car collided with the city railroad in Glarus on Thursday afternoon. The passenger car driver was driving from the municipal assembly point Ygrubenstrasse towards Glarus.
When the 29-year-old began to cross the railroad crossing behind the assembly point, the barriers dropped and the passenger car pulled into a stop between the closed gates at the railroad crossing.
The driver can still get out
The driver was able to get to a safe place on time. As a result, an S-Bahn from Ziegelbrücke hit the car despite immediate braking and pulled it a few meters away.
No one was injured in the collision. However, the car was completed. The control car of the train was also damaged. The train passengers were allowed to disembark at the accident site and proceed to the Glarus station. Rail traffic between Netstal GL and Linthal GL was interrupted for approximately one and a half hours.
